A Healthier Solution to Resolutions

A Healthier Solution to Resolutions

Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping them up.― Jesse Jackson

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2023! We made it friends! Some of us may have slid into the new year with bumps, scrapes and missing teeth, while others may have nails painted with hair and makeup on point. πŸ’…πŸ½

Whatever condition you enter into this new year, may you embrace new challenges with all you've got, while also recognizing the time and space you may need to pull yourself together again, rest and reboot.

In thinking about new beginnings in the new year, our thoughts may turn to resolutions. You know those fake promises we make to ourselves on January 1 which seem to always disappear by January 15? Yeah, those resolutions. 🀦🏽‍♀️

What would you say to a healthier alternative? I recently heard about choosing a word for the year instead of a resolution. A word that represents your guiding principle or a word that helps define what you want to accomplish and work towards during the year. What an inspiring idea!

For example, if I had to choose a word for 2022 it would be growth. I experienced tremendous growth not only professionally, as I transitioned to a fully remote executive assistant role, but also in running my podcast, as I began to build frameworks for bringing additional content and services to you in the coming year.

Now thinking ahead to 2023, a couple of words that I plan to use as my north star, have already come to mind. I share more about my word choices in this weeks' episode. 🫢🏽

So I ask, what will your word be? What’s that one word that will help guide you throughout the year and help keep you focused and inspired as you navigate your way through 2023?
